Workshop Supervisor - Full Time - Netherley , United Kingdom


Sulzer UK are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join and strengthen the team at Alba Power in Scotland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to supervise our workshop, personnel and assist management in the planning of daily activities within the workshop. We are a family oriented team and supportive team that thrives in a dynamic and changing environment.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Supervising workshop personnel
  • Overseeing and assisting with workshop housekeeping duties
  • Ensure adherence to all HSEQ policies and procedures
  • Maintain high quality of completed work ensuring effective use of time to achieve tasks
  • Direct supervision of all workshop personnel including, workshop training, signing off annual leave, produce daily job sheets, help conduct appraisals etc
  • Lead and conduct shop floor morning meeting as required

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Successful previous experience with gas turbines and power turbines in a workshop environment
  • Knowledge of gas turbine repair and refurbishment
  • Experience of supervision and/or management of personnel in a fabrication, repair or construction environment
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive and implement Company processes within the sphere of responsibility
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Flexible approach, team player and ability to work independently
  • Able to work away from home, communicating effectively back to Head Office

Location: We are a well-established and progressive workshop based in Netherley, Aberdeenshire. You will be joining a team of 70 experienced and knowledgeable engineers, inspecting, repairing, and overhauling a variety of gas turbine and power turbine models from our purpose-built facilities.
